An introductory workshop to the technique of rotoscoping, this being a common animatic methodology seen frequently throughout industry.

A series of complex examples of successful rotoscoped music videos. Both examples embedded here feature many inspiring editorial techniques, transition effects, and nice stylistic textures. A highly illustrated, artistic methodology is correlated with the upbeat nature of the music, matching, and heightening inferable mood.

These screen shots provide insight of my After Effects working document, and the process of rotoscoping. Individual anchor points surrounding the main subject have to be moved and prepositioned frame by frame.

This screenshot shows the next stage of the process. Here a separate composition was created, where a time remap expression was added. Shape layers were incorporated to show the movement of the character through solids.
