Kinetic Type 1: Outcome

This is the outcome of this particular kinetic type workshop.

Clear inspiration is taken from previously reviewed type-videos. Editorial style is a particular aspect I have considered, making sure that the way in which the visuals are presented and manipulated matches the theme and nature of the type-face.

Upon review, I found this workshop useful, where I learnt how to present type in a fluid, motion-based method. I particularly struggled with the motion aspect, altering scale, rotation, and position collaboratively, yet feel as though my skillsets have improved upon completion of this task. The time taken to experiment with these was beneficial, heightening drama in the piece, while echoing associable connotations of the font.

I decided to keep the video simple, selecting a straight black-white monochromatic colour palette; a deliberate choice to induce a dramatic, eye-catching, dateless and clean-cut aesthetic.

If I had additional time, I may experiment with the implementation of colour, background texture and sound to draw ideas closer and induce atmospheric qualities.
