With regards to potential layout and composition, I created the following thumbnail sketches to assist visualisation of my potential outcome. Following much consideration, I decided I liked the idea of having the robot A.I. dog spread across 3/4 of the double page spread, leaving room for my article to the right of him. The idea of putting written content within the dogs eye also appealed to me, where this could potentially enhance deeper meaning, applied to a specific paragraph, sentence or quote, heightening emotive qualities.

As a concept piece, I produced this mock-up, where I began visualising the way with which I will present some of my story. Reflecting upon my outcome, I realise that this is a highly descriptive and illustrative layout, providing insight beyond that of the descriptions given within the article. I have given the A.I dog a very friendly and honest face and expression, signifying key ideas I wish to portray about K9 as a character. This would intentionally overpower any negative or scary ideas any reader would have towards the technological creation. Typographic content would be continued within the second page, filling the space and correcting the spacial imbalance following development of a finalised outcome.
